I have made the choice to leave Discord. With all of the privacy issues revolving around Discord currently plus the Age verification stuff, it is just a bit ridiculous.

I have already peaced out on Ring already as I posted about on my site.

Leaving Discord though is a bit more complicated though. There a quite a bit of communities I am a part of (cybersecurity, tech, etc.) that are on Discord. Not sure if they are going to be moving somewhere else, probably not.

I am wondering if any of my cybersecurity and tech friends know of other places out there on the webs where communities are. IRC? Others? That I can hope on over to?

Any suggestions?

Mental health is health. Full stop.

Anxiety, depression, PTSD, burnout, and ADHD are not “bad vibes” or a personality flaw. They affect sleep, focus, appetite, immune function, blood pressure, pain levels, and decision-making. They can wreck your relationships and your job performance the same way a chronic physical condition can. And sometimes they can kill you.

We’ve got to stop treating mental health like it’s optional, dramatic, or only “real” when it’s visible. You wouldn’t tell someone with asthma to “just breathe harder.” You wouldn’t tell someone with diabetes to “try being more positive.” So maybe we stop telling people with depression to “just get outside” like sunlight is a prescription.

If you’re struggling: you’re not weak, you’re not broken, and you don’t have to earn support by hitting rock bottom first. Talk to someone you trust, talk to a professional if you can, and take it seriously, the same way you would any other health problem.

Be kind. Be real. Check on your people.

New by me: I’ve been seeing a spike in unwanted apps (PUPs/adware) sneaking onto client endpoints, so I built a practical workaround when allowlisting tools aren’t in the budget.

This post walks through:
✅ a PowerShell cleanup script (Audit vs Remediate)
✅ a JSON “bad app” list you can update over time
✅ how to automate it in your RMM (with a Kaseya VSA X example)
✅ why I avoid Win32_Product and how the fallback config works

Man, I’m tired today. 😮‍💨

My wife and I were mounting our new TV last night. We got the old one off the wall, pulled the mount off the back, unboxed the new TV, and started attaching the mount.

We also upgraded to a bigger screen this time, so everything took longer than expected. Right when we were about to lift it onto the wall, I noticed the screen was broken. 😒😡 I was heated. I know, I should’ve checked before we did all that… but I didn’t.

So then it was: repack the whole thing, drive back to the store, deal with the exchange, grab a replacement (checked it in the store this time), drive back home, reassemble it on the mount, and finally get it hung.

Phew. 😵‍💫

I almost never have to type my license number into a form, which is why this feels way more like a “vendor-driven telemetry/lock-in feature” than something users were begging for. If the use case is rare but the data is high value and long-lived, stuffing it into the browser’s autofill just shifts the risk/benefit ratio in the wrong direction. Info-stealers only need you to say “yes” once, and now they get a gov-issued ID number along with all the usual cookies and creds.
