yup. firing noem does nothing to fix the underlying and pervasive rot in all of DHS. the entire department needs to be disassembled and rethought from scratch, with significant increases in regulation, guard rails, rules of behavior, clear mission.

my sister has a background in theatre costuming, in college and professionally.
in high school, she created a pattern for a renaissance velvet doublet with pierced sleeves. she made it, along with a matching small cap w feather, and wore them to high school.
these days, i guess she'd be an influencer. back then, just "one of those weird theatre geeks". ;)

at the ISP i was working at when Mosaic came out, the general reaction from all of tech staff tended to be these:
- why? gopher and wais are much faster
- who needs pictures on their web site?
thus starting our almost flawless record of failing to correctly predict how the masses would use various technology we built. :)
