Over the past few years, has grown into a core component of the global Open Science ecosystem. To match this growth, we have now adopted a new governance model, providing a clearer, more robust, and sustainable institutional foundation.

Developed with guidance from our International Advisory Board and in collaboration with the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna, the new framework strengthens autonomy, formalizes long-term commitments, and aligns with internationally recognized best practices for Open Science sustainability.

This is a key milestone, reflecting the shared commitment of our community to ensure OpenCitations continues to operate in the service of researchers and institutions worldwide.
