I'm not trusting him, but it's his reputation in stake here. He can lie how much he wants, people are dumb but not that dumb, people will start noticing something is off, it'll probably affect his company and shareholders trust on the company. After all, why are you investing into something that you can't know for sure the decisions being taken here. I'm just playing the game, if he's saying no verification ID so let's see it, not a reason to overreact so far. As a matter of fact, it could be worse, he could just say "now IDs will be required end of story" which isn't the case.
