Because I prefer a peaceful, lawful transition of power over a violent, bloody coup. We’ve seen the latter tried three times in this country, both successfully and unsuccessfully, and each time they were rather ugly affairs. Let’s try it differently this time, shall we? And since the last two times were rather unsuccessful (not to mention, embarrassing) let’s see if we can get it right this time without doing our best to kill each other like a bunch of methed-up apes. Edit: it says so much about this country that the citizens are literally willing to put their lives on the line to change this country, while those in power to change it simply with words aren’t even willing to put their careers on the line.
