Programmer, #Luddite (of the worker's rights kind), #AuDHD-er, occasional artist (of the pen and paper kind, but can also use a camera), rather #plural. Apparently a terminal selfhoster, definitely terminally online. Beware the mad scientists. I don't always pick up on nonverbal cues (punctuation/slang/emojis etc). Let me know if you think I'm miscommunicating something. Follow requests are approved as long as I can see you're queer-friendly and not a bot. Habitual poster of #NoAI . You have permission to hide my boosts, I CW most of my AI/tech doom posts but most of the people I boost don't do this. Warning: May Contain Sarcasm. Cover image source: Wikimedia Commmons

Generally it seems like here people follow people and not topics. I know on YouTube it's the other way round, put too many different videos on the same profile and the algorithm punishes you. Luckily here there is no algorithm to do that.
I do fairly often see alternative accounts spun up for public/private or sfw/nsfw. Or accounts for different instances (for the different communities I guess?).
So I think for your use-case keeping the gamedev stuff in the same account might help? You can perhaps use hashtags for filtering to make it easier to find the educational stuff among the shitposts. Or I've seen users make long threads for this reason (e.g. Jonny's Claude Code roast)
