@BrKloeckner It's true that US policy has been going the wrong way, but look beyond the US. Under SSP2-4.5, power sector emissions are not expected to peak and decline until the 2030s. But we're already there, globally.
China and India (the world's two most populous countries) are not following the FF pathways expected under SSP2-4.5, let alone higher emissions scenarios. Decarbonization is already running *ahead* of most scenarios including SSP2-4.5, esp. in power sector and road transport.
