@petergleick they are indeed the exact same people. The kind if of people that are sufficiently "special" that cognitive dissonance has no effect om them. They can hold a belief, and defend it to their dying breath, even though they can see with their own eyes that it is false. Surprisingly, they, themselves, seem to think being unbound by reality is some kind of superpower.
