I am looking forward to well reasoned think pieces from people more knowledgeable than I am with titles like "Tech creating barriers to healthcare" I got an email from a third party that looked quite spammy. Almost deleted it. Then took a second look and realized it must be that referral from the specialist I've been waiting for. I had to pop open my laptop, create an account in order to see the message, and all it was was a pdf to download to tell me I had an intake appointment created for me at this and this a time and if I didn't call within so many days to confirm, it would be cancelled. Took me over 10 minutes to get all this information where a phone call back in the day would have taken 2. I also can't see someone like my mother not getting that appointment cancelled on her. She would never have even opened that email. The spammy look, big words she wouldn't have known, a sign in page that would have made her think fraud if she even got that far. Nothing about this process felt like "progess" or an improvement over a phone call.
