What's something that really grinds your gears?
I will go first. I hate how so many people act like every kind of art or media is now derivative because someone else out of billions of people and thousands of years had a somewhat similar idea.

People who don’t care to learn, but want to have an opinion. Doesn’t matter the topic, sports, movies, business, politics, science, every asshole wants you to listen to their half-brained, malformed thought prions, and then insist that it’s disrespectful to point out flaws in their “reasoning.” I don’t mind people being disengaged. It’s a big world, and nobody is an expert in everything. But respect is earned, and being an expert entitles you to an opinion. Everyone else should shut the fuck up.

Unless you have investigated a problem, you will be deprived of the right to speak on it. Isn’t that too harsh? Not in the least. When you have not probed into a problem, into the present facts and its past history, and know nothing of its essentials, whatever you say about it will undoubtedly be nonsense. Talking nonsense solves no problems, as everyone knows, so why is it unjust to deprive you of the right to speak? Quite a few comrades always keep their eyes shut and talk nonsense, and for a Communist that is disgraceful. How can a Communist keep his eyes shut and talk nonsense? It won’ t do! It won’t do! You must investigate! You must not talk nonsense! Mao Zedong, Oppose Book Worship
