William Lindsay's daily threads are good roundups of the history that is unfolding around us as a small group of compromised and deeply unwell narcissists kill people through intent, neglect, cruelty, glee, and sheer ignorance.
I'm hoping Trump's presidency ends soon and I'm hoping that his legacy will be a general and lasting rejection of populism in all its guises.
But I am not optimistic in the least about that. I believe that the US political system has been too compromised by manipulation and corruption to ever be something like that.
But at the very least, it would be good to get the killing to stop. With the USAID cuts, the wars and the persecution of immigrants, this administration has ended the lives of 100,000s of people. They rank amongst the worst people I've ever seen govern in my lifetime. And they are the worst Americans by far.
