A short and nifty animated vid about James Joyce's life and work.

It's all standard, common knowledge but calling him the starter of Stream-of-Consciousness has been argued.

It has been recorded that Gertrude Stein and Virginia Woolf are the forebearers of SOC.

Since both women were in Paris during the Modernist expat period as Joyce was, it is possible he might have been influenced by them. it would explain why Stein didn't care for Joyce much. It would also make sense artistically. He might have read their works and been inspired by them.

Combined with the works of Jung who was also a big influence on the Modernists of that time, he might have been overwhelmed with influence and inspiration. As what makes a good artist. He could have thought 'What if...'.
