Even if staged, I seriously doubt they would have informed him ahead of time. He can't keep a secret, and they would have needed him to "act natural"
But #OccamsRazor applies here. The simplest solution is likely true: a nervous/angry MAGA kid tried to shoot him & missed.
No need to turn it into another #KennedyAssassination.
