Best thing about any movie pre-2000 is no cell phones. Or little, if novelty, reliance on them in the last of those years.
Die Hard With a Vengeance used them effectively, with purpose, but couldn't even exist without the vast amounts of pay phones that used to exist as a reliable contact point most anywhere.
I appreciate any more-recent movies I see now that eschew cell phones as the leading character.
