Prosecutions against the tilde dropped

Parents wishing to give their child a first name containing a tilde (~) will no longer face prosecution, the Ministry of Justice confirmed on Tuesday, following a report by Ici Breizh Izel. This symbol, however, remains officially prohibited for use in civil registration in France.
