Gaza 'genocide' comment prompts walkout by German [environment] minister at Berlinale | Reuters (2026-02-22) https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/gaza-genocide-comment-prompts-walkout-by-german-minister-berlinale-2026-02-22/ ------ >> The remarks by [Palestinian-Syrian film director] Abdallah Al-Khatib, whose "Chronicles From the Siege" won the Berlinale's Perspectives section for emerging filmmakers, capped a politically charged festival ... >> "... you are a refugee in Germany, and there are so many red lines. But I don't care. I care about my people, about Palestine," said Al-Khatib, standing on stage with a keffiyeh scarf draped on his shoulder and raising a Palestinian flag at the end of his speech ... >> "So I will say my final word to the German government. You are partners in the genocide in Gaza by Israel. I believe you are intelligent enough to recognise this truth, but you choose to not care.".. #Berlinale #Berlinale2026 #AbdallahAlKhatib #GermanComplicityInGenocide #Gaza #palestine @palestine@lemmy.ml @palestine@fedibird.com

Saw the #JudasPriest documentary last night at #Berlinale. It was the world premiere and #RobHalford was there! 🤯 Also #TomMorello, who produced the documentary, was there as well. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt36999055/ #TheBalladOfJudasPriest is a lot of fun to watch with great pacing and a good dramaturgy! It features #JackBlack, #OzzyOsbourne, #KirkHammett and many more. I can 💯 recommend it to everyone who is into #heavymetal 🤘🏽but also to everyone who is interested in the history of metal, since Priest is one of the bands that put down the foundation. When they started, they didn't even know what to say when they were asked "what genre do you play?" and were labeled "progressive blues" in the very early days 🤣 #berlinale2026 #berlin
