February is cub season for badgers. Mums with babies only ever go a 500metre distance from their cubs. If you see a badger newly dead by the roadside please check for lactation (bare area around swollen teats on her underside). * Her cubs have 24 hours before they leave the set in search of mum, and they will die of hypothermia. *https://www.badgertrust.org.uk/report if you find one as described.
