Some folks at #FOSDEM tried to buy the makeshift hats one of our team members brought, so I arranged for this prototype of an official hat to be made. It's a fisherman beanie with our logo embroidered. I'm trying to gauge interest here. Is this something you'd buy? (Poll in follow-up post)

I know it's a long shot but if someone who sees this found their way to Mastodon through one of the leaflets we distributed at #FOSDEM, I want to hear from you--what did you think of the leaflet? I need to generalize those for other events.

Not sure what was more ridiculous in my trip to #FOSDEM this year. The food truck that required non-free JavaScript to order or the tour in the EU parliament that could not even bother to use EU tech for the tour.

zomg. i edited this document last night (which i could not see because zero nodes were online). one other person joined me. this morning, i woke up to see my changes sync'd with all the #fosdem nodes who woke up. their (original, earlier) content was neatly stitched together with the text i typed with that one other person yesterday. no tearing/interleaving of text. no data loss. @p2panda@autonomous.zone @jsparber@mastodon.social @tbernard@mastodon.social THIS IS SO COOL ❤️

#fosdem gave me an opportunity to have several chats about living under the specter of war and the specter of fascism the idea i has in my head, going into #fosdem, was "doing nothing is not an option" in our talks, folx were expressing that they don't read the news. some said they feel powerless, so they prefer to "not know" this led me to think about how i can embolden and encourage people to engage with the world in a way that specifically gives them the experience of having agency

A big and warm thank you hug to all the friends I met and talked to in Brussels this time. Two packed days of events before #FOSDEM including an awesome prize ceremony, then two intense days at ULB where I must have talked to more than a hundred persons. All the positivity, the appreciation, the smiles, the ideas, the energy. I got to end-keynote the thing and then top it off with more drinks and countless friends - again. I'm drained now, but in a good way. I'll be back next year.

Tornato a casa, sto ancora metabolizzando 😅 Al #FOSDEM ho incontrato persone che non sapevo ci fossero, perso chi volevo trovare (e perso chi era con me 🙃). Un continuo trovarsi e perdersi, non ho fatto tutto quello che pensavo, ma ho fatto cose che non immaginavo avrei mai potuto fare.
