Castrovel Insirational Pic of the Week - Artist is Yangyang Sui, who can be found on Artstation. I have realized, somewhat belatedly, that I have unconsciously made snakes the symbol of evil in Lashunta Culture, despite the fact that I think snakes are cool. I suppose I'm showing my Howardian influence, propagating from Set the Old Serpent in his Conan stories. One question that I keep asking myself: while Lashunta acknowledge that snarkes aren't inherently evil, what would induce to ally with the horrific forces they have come to represent in Lashunta Symbology? The eldritch evil once wielded on Castrovel by the Moqeva, and which quite possibly still lurks in forgotten burrows or in the dark spaces between the stars, far beyond Burning-Mother's light and Father-Night's protective cloak. One obvious answer is power, but it almost feels insufficient by itself. #pathfinder #pathfinderrpg #lashunta #castrovel #rpg #rpgart #ttrpg #ttrpgart #worldbuildingart #worldbuilding

#castrovel Inspiration Artist is William O'Connor In some of my writings, i've mentioned something called a River-Eel, a lurker beneath Father-Yaro's waters, who can pull an unsuspecting river-traveler - like a Lashunta fisherman or a Human tourist - down to a gruesome death in the murky depths. I haven't decided yet whether it is more like a true eel, or maybe some kind of crocodilian amphibian, like is shown here. Either way, Castrovel is a paradise for such wet-environment predators. The Yaro River is deep, and some say it has caverns below its bed which are truly bottomless. Also, jungle marshes extend for hundreds of miles off to the East, making homes for smaller water-hunters, anaconda-like Qu-snakes, fierce snapper-salamanders, and sharpshooting bale-toads. #pathfinder #pathfinderrpg #lashunta #rpg #rpgart #ttrpg #ttrpgart #worldbuilding #worldbuildingart

#Castrovel Inspiration Artist is Michael Kutsche (artstation) The Girallon is a monster borrowed straight from ERB, specifically out of the John Carter-Mars/Barsoom series. Thus in #Pathfinder analog, it is associated with Akiton. Yet sightings have apparently occurred in the Mwangi Expanse. There are even rumors of the Anghazani, an intelligent version, who may inhabit the demon-cursed city of Usaro. It interests me that the Girallon would thrive better in Castrovel's megadendra rainforests than in Akiton's thin-air deserts. Also, Qabarat has a portal connecting the two planets. Could they have snuck through and adapted to the gravity? If so, who is to say they originated on Akiton? Maybe it's the other way around? Then again, Girallon's presence on Castrovel could be an example of a zoo collection gone wrong. Once they fled into the jungles, was there any hope of retrieving them? #pathfinderrpg #lashunta #rpg #rpgart #ttrpg #ttrpgart #worldbuilding #worldbuildingart

Lashunta Inspirational Pic of the Week Artist: Seb McKinnnon (instagram) - work for Magic: the Gathering The #lashunta exterminated the Moqeva almost 10,000 years ago. Yet since then, they have become the stuff of Lashunta nightmares, fueled by rumors of surviving remnants of their own extinction. Lady Vaeol herself met a Moqeva, decrepit and crippled, seemingly having survived all these millennia, deep within the caves of Candares. One thought that keeps Vaeol up at night is whether there are other surviving Moqeva pockets. If so, where would they be? Back hidden under the Stormshields, where they found Taiase trapped in a piece of Moqeva weirdware? What of elsewhere - the Colonies, purportedly ruled by the Formians (but with no detailed knowledge)? What of Lost Ukulam, a continent so wild that no colonies have apparently ever succeeded? #pathfinderrpg #pathfinder #castrovel #rpg #rpgart #ttrpg #ttrpgart #worldbuilding #worldbuildingart
