The corporation continues as a separate legal entity. The business assets and liabilities belong to the corporation itself, not its owner. His shares would be passed to his next of kin or, if he didn’t have one, would become property of the state and most likely auctioned off.

Half my family lives in NM, and I just returned yesterday from a month there.

Trying to conduct my day as normal (food needs buying and bills need to be paid, after all), but with a marked increase of episodes of staring of into space internally shrieking as avenues of opportunity and life plans made years ago are irrevocably altered.
What's the alternative? Give up? That doesn't help anyone.
