I don't think I like Shogun Showdown that much. It's TOO much like Into the Breach that it just ends up kinda boring, rocketing past elegant depth and into just being dry and dull. The problem is the only way the game can catch you is by you botching something three turns ago, and during a boss fight this means your botch was you didn't know the boss was going to fuck these three tiles specifically and had no way of knowing because he hadn't declared that attack three turns ago. And honestly it runs about 10 minutes too long to clear on top of all of that, and this is a 35-40 minute game so that's an astounding rate of getting bored.

RE4make is also one of the most lied about and misunderstood games I've ever seen. Almost every deviation from RE4 that people complain about is because RE4make is a different style of game; almost none of the complaints understand the mechanical justifications for these changes and there are a few streamers who SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS who are smart enough to understand these differences and I know are lying their asses off about this game for e-cred. The knife has a durability meter because the knife is VERY different in RE4make. If you shoot dudes and knife them while they're down to save ammo, that's good in RE4 but totally throwing in RE4make. The knife meter is your magic meter for parrying, stealth kills, sprouter cancelling, and contextual big damage jackpots on bosses.

After RE8 I thought "This is just Crapcom trying to do RE4 again. You can't just DO RE4 again." but it turns out you actually CAN do RE4 again if you just do it right. RE4make is super good.

The games are totally on opposite sides of the coin, RE4 was the start of an entire subgenre, while RE4make is the period at the end of route Capcom has been going since RE2make through RE7 and RE8. RE4 was imaginative and novel while RE4make is s summation of concepts already tested and iterated, and it does so marvelously. The parry in RE4make is obviously just a better iteration of Ethan's retarded looking block from RE7 and 8 and the gunplay is the same heavy stuff from RE2make with enemies that are fat and take a lot of shots and deny you space but tuned to RE4's action. This is honestly the best RE game Crapcom has made since the last time they made RE4 and, since it doesn't replace RE4 like REmake replaced RE1, you have TWO must play games named RE4.

He's flamenco dancing through the whole opening cutscene, auditioning for Platinum to make a spinoff game where he comes back from the dead I guess.
