I feel you on that man, every time I’ve had to work under my first gen CRV (it’s a 2000 model year, made at he end of 1999) it’s turned into a weekend project. Rear sway bar links? 3 days. Trailing arm and rear control arm bushings? 2 days. Sway bar bushings? 2 days AND ended up swapping out the rear cross beam because of how fucked it became during the whole shitshow (the latest project with it). Under the hood? At most an afternoon.

Fixing a [Rule]box car is always better with friends

For those curious: I broke the bolts AND started the scope creep. We were literally gonna only fix one thing (that we had finished at the point) then I said “Since we’ve already got this part off, might as well swap that bushing out while it’s in the open.” And then all hell broke loose (But not the bolts). Yes I bought them lunch… and dinner… and lunch afterwards. I love that man, and I won’t stop telling them that.

That’s the hard part really, finding a new group chat platform. My friends and I are switching to Matrix but finding a community there is gonna be a bit tough. We all become too dependent on Discord and now we’re paying the price when we try to leave.

This is a piece of digital art I made using a photograph of a light through a tree’s canopy using a modified lens, then edited using GIMP, Audacity, Blender, and Lightroom then back through the software a few times is various orders. The name came from a friend who when they saw it said that it reminded them of “those glowing brain activity things”, and after telling them how I made it they said “A Thought Canopy”. Didn’t really know where to share it on lemmy so I figured “Why not the apartment of awesome?”
