PCBs are basically designed using graphic editors. The editors all have their own standards and don’t really import pure text pass the netlist. Simply importing from one to the other is quite painful.
It’s basically trying to build a really really complicated SVG and llms struggle with simple svgs. And that’s only the Gerber, there’s also the whole schematic that needs to be done first from which the Gerber is built from.
PCB design tools are basically made to make our lives easier and avoid mistakes, but it makes it incredibly difficult for any kind of LLM.

Not sure what you mean by this tbh. The client list in relation to the product? Do you mean the source code leak? That’s a bit what I mean by it not being safe for everything and trying to build a house out of 3d printed bricks. I’m not even certain the code leak was caused by AI generated code anyways.
I personally only build small internal apps for the rest of the team. We don’t ship software.
Granted, every tool has its use and most can be used for the wrong thing if you try hard enough. It’s also easier to use it for the wrong thing with AI, has to be said.

That’s kind of a point for it? If the code isn’t the product, then it doesn’t matter who made it if the product is built properly. And sota models certainly know where to put the nails.
A better analogy would be a 3d printer. Much quicker than carving stuff out of wood. Might fail a print but it’s still faster. It’s not exactly food safe so avoid using it for something important. Obviously, it works well for small things but trying to build a house out of 3d printed bricks is going to yield failure.
Not the best analogy though but nails and hammers and monkeys is just missing the point completely imo.

If scrapping YouTube is against the law, that just means Google owns all video generation as well as anything to do with speech for the most part. Whisper was built mainly on YouTube vids.

Best would be locked in syndrome but we can also pay to insult him in person and kind of spit on his limp face.

Sometimes, I'll lean back, look at the ceiling and let out a loud "hmmmm" so it's clear I'm thinking and doing a difficult task.

If we enter a depression, people will have less money to spend on luxuries. I just think the percentage of people buying hand made furniture is kind of low. I think most people “buy” them from friends and family doing it as a semi-hobby, or are rich, or at least in my experience.
Not trying to be overly critical, just saying it’s not easy.
As a side note, I’ve noticed no one makes nice wooden informational kiosks with integrated touch screen even though orgs like museums would likely buy them over plastic and metal ones. Just an idea if you were looking for a niche product.

To be fair, they were popular at first because they were highly convenient. I remember Uber as the first to have a GPS map that told you where your taxi was. Most taxi companies and hotels were seriously lagging behind in terms of use of technology.
That being said, they were malicious companies from the start and the whole business angle was built on taking advantage of loopholes. I’d be fine with a lot of them if they were nationally owned companies though.

Better term would probably be generative AI to also cover music, video and my grandma’s soul.

The paragraph right after reads:
Among the most recent senses adopted is a logical extension of the previous ones, with the meaning of “to kill.” We do not enter this sense, due to its relative recency and sparseness of use.

I just think the big players aren’t touching personal blogs and social media anymore and only use specific vetted sources, or have other strategies in place to counter it. Anthropic is the one that told everyone how to do it, I can’t imagine them doing it if it could affect them.

That being said, sabotaging all future endeavors would likely just result in a soft monopoly for the current players, who are already in a position to cherry pick what they add. I wouldn’t be surprised if certain companies are already poisoning the well to stop their competitors tbh.

I hope people are starting to understand that is what the pro copyright media campaign is actually about. They don’t want to stop AI, they want to own it.

I’m disagreeing with the positive spin you are trying to put on it. We have cops because of crime. Having cops is a good thing (mostly) but we wouldn’t need them if there was no crime.

Copyrights is mostly used by big companies to fuck with the competition so they can keep a strangle hold on the consumers.
It’s a deeply flawed system not in any way to our advantage. Actually having the copyright laws strengthened so they apply to AI training would instantly kill the open source scene and make certain only a handful of companies can afford to put out models.
Copyleft is built as a protection against big companies and how unfair the playing field is because of copyright laws. It’s like saying crime is a good thing because without it, we wouldn’t have a police force.
