Huang declares Israel Nvidia’s “second home” with record-breaking campus investment

Now it is official: Nvidia’s spacecraft is set to land in Kiryat Tivon. After a five-month process in which the world’s most valuable company examined several alternatives for establishing a new mega-campus in Israel, Nvidia has chosen Kiryat Tivon. The company, currently valued at about $4.3 trillion, will purchase the land from the state for approximately NIS 90 million (approximately $28 million), making it the first international technology company in Israel to build a major campus on land it owns. Until now, the campuses of multinational giants such as Intel, Microsoft, Google, and Meta have all been located in leased properties.

[Video] Massive 100.000 man protest march by Palestinians in the occupied 1948 territories against Israel

Context

“The [Arab] public has no hope, they understand that the prime minister and the rest of the government ministers have abandoned them,” said Hadash-Ta’al MK Aida Touma-Sliman, who marched in the Sakhnin demonstration.

Speaking to The Times of Israel, she said the unprecedented number of people in attendance was only possible after the end of the two-year war in Gaza. As long as the war continued, she said, the Arab public “felt it was hard to talk about their own hardships.”

“Ben Gvir is succeeding in advancing a policy in which criminal organizations are a subcontractor for him,” she claimed. “He stands by and watches how criminal organizations control our lives and frighten the public. Rather than having political goals, they have turned us into people who are just trying to survive.”

After the march concluded in Sakhnin, national and local Arab leaders met in the local city hall to discuss how to sustain the momentum that led to the strike and unprecedented demonstration, which Zahalka boasted had 100,000 attendees.

Florida Police Said They Were Forced to Kill a Black Man, Refused Calls for BodyCam Video — Then a Neighbor’s Footage Blew the Story Apart

South Florida cops claimed they were “forced to fire” at a 32-year-old Black man named Donald Taylor in August because he was armed and would not follow commands. But newly surfaced video contradicts those claims, showing the Black man walking away from cops with his hands raised to his sides showing no gun in his hand when a Hollywood police officer fired a single shot as Taylor had his back turned to the cops, killing him.

Germany signs $3.1b Arrow 3 missile deal with Israel

Germany and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) on Sunday signed a $3.1 billion contract expanding the prior Arrow 3 defense system from the $3.5 billion initial Arrow contract signed between the parties two years ago. The contract signing follows the December 17 approval of the deal by the German Bundestag and brings the total earnings on the two deals to over $6.5 billion, representing the largest Israeli defense export deal ever. The announcement comes only one month after the initial Arrow 3 battery Israel provided to Germany was deployed at a major ceremony at Holzdorf Air Force Base, attended by The Jerusalem Post.

At least 5 die in Gaza collapsed buildings, more deaths from extreme cold

At least five Palestinians have been killed in Gaza as a fierce winter storm toppled buildings damaged by Israeli attacks in its genocidal war on the territory, the Wafa news agency is reporting. Several others, including a one-year-old child, died due to the extreme cold, civil defence and hospital officials reported Tuesday, as a low-pressure system brought cold temperatures, heavy rains and chilling winds to the coastal enclave, where tens of thousands of displaced people are surviving in flimsy, inadequate shelters.

U.S. Attacked Boat With Aircraft That Looked Like a Civilian Plane

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first attack on a boat that the Trump administration said was smuggling drugs, killing 11 people last September, according to officials briefed on the matter. The aircraft also carried its munitions inside the fuselage, rather than visibly under its wings, they said. The nonmilitary appearance is significant, according to legal specialists, because the administration has argued its lethal boat attacks are lawful — not murders — because President Trump “determined” the United States is in an armed conflict with drug cartels.

Bill Ackman Gave $10,000 to Jonathan Ross GoFundMe Created by User Linked to Nazi Salute Image

After a U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officer shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis last week, rival GoFundMe campaigns emerged. One raised $1.5 million for the family of the slain mother of three. Another has pulled in nearly half a million dollars for Jonathan Ross — the ICE agent who killed her. Among the donors to the Ross GoFundMe was billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, who shared a post about the fundraiser on Saturday and donated $10,000. The fundraising campaign for Ross was created by an account using the name of Clyde Emmons, of Michigan. Other online accounts, linked to the GoFundMe and bearing the same name, posted white supremacist imagery and called Good “a stupod bitch who got what she deserved.”

Minnesota and the Twin Cities sue the federal government to stop the immigration crackdown

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota and its two largest cities sued the Trump administration Monday to try to stop an immigration enforcement surge that led to the fatal shooting of a Minneapolis woman by a federal officer and evoked outrage and protests across the country. The state, joined by Minneapolis and St. Paul, said the Department of Homeland Security is violating the First Amendment and other constitutional protections. The lawsuit seeks a temporary restraining order to halt the enforcement action or limit the operation. “This is, in essence, a federal invasion of the Twin Cities in Minnesota, and it must stop,” state Attorney General Keith Ellison said at a news conference. “These poorly trained, aggressive and armed agents of the federal state have terrorized Minnesota with widespread unlawful conduct.”

How NATO works at a time when Trump is threatening to seize Greenland

BRUSSELS (AP) — President Donald Trump’s repeated threats to seize control of Greenland are straining relations with U.S. allies in NATO and have sparked a warning that doing so by force could spell the end of the world’s biggest security alliance. Tensions have routinely spiked among some of NATO’s members over the decades, notably between neighbors Greece and Turkey. But it would set a dangerous precedent should its most powerful country, the United States, annex the territory of another ally. “One way or the other, we’re going to have Greenland,” Trump reaffirmed on Sunday. The White House has not ruled out the use of military force. Trump said he wants to prevent Russia or China from taking over and that making a deal would be “easier.” Greenland is a semi-autonomous island that is part of the Danish realm. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has warned that “if the United States chooses to attack another NATO country militarily, then everything stops … including our NATO.”

Luigi Mangione gets surprise court win to decide legality of using his backpack as evidence

A federal judge said on Monday that she will hold a hearing on the procedures used by Pennsylvania police to seize personal property at the time of Luigi Mangione’s arrest as the defense seeks to exclude key evidence. The defense asked the court to bar prosecutors from using items found in a backpack seized during Mangione’s arrest, including a gun that police said matched the one used to kill UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson as well as a notebook. The defense alleged that the search was illegal because police had not yet obtained a warrant.
