All processors are computer chips, not all computer chips are processors.
ETA: The article seems to mention processors, but this appears to be a memory chip advancement.

Mmmm I don’t see Lebanon listed on that page, though this does point towards this being a post split change.

I can’t really find any info on when they pull their data from OSM, but it seems their use of OSM may vary from country to country? I don’t know that there’s an easy way to confirm this one way or the other.

Is that accurate though?
Does Apple Maps update from OSM routinely? If not, did they update before or after the villages were added?
I ask because many things update off OSM once in a blue moon. Pokémon Go for instance updated less than once a year.

I meeeean…. I kinda agree with you, but where exactly do you expect funding to come from? “Focus only on the browser. That they make no money off. Also stop accepting money from Google.”
Like I get it to an extent, it would be nice. But how exactly is “make no money” a viable business plan?

Eh, I can see how that might work under EU law. So I suppose there’s a potential for it to be illegal in the EU then.
Though I do question the extent that could reach, since “left leaning lesbians looking for work only browser” could be the user agent if someone was so inclined. Admittedly though, that’s outside the scope of this argument.

Oh, browser extensions. And specifically on chromium browsers.
Yeah, that makes much more sense than “any installed software”. It also throws out their claim of this being illegal. Using a browser API endpoint to say “hey do you have this extension” isn’t illegal, at least in most countries.
Is this shitty behavior? Yes. Is this anywhere near what their clickbait title and honestly clickbait article claim? Not in the slightest.

“I know someone who only did a murder once and they locked them right up. Suggest you reset your opinions a bit.”
Replace murder with any crime.
If you don’t want to face the consequences, don’t do the action that begets the consequences.
TLDR: don’t fuck around if you don’t wanna find out.

Okay, pump the breaks a second.
I agree a day wait is bullshit, but you think a passcode is enough to keep someone from… anything? You can shoulder surf a passcode in no time at all. Hell, it’s not even difficult. Go to a bar, talk someone up, give a legit reason to use someone’s phone, intentionally lock and force a passcode and 99% of people at bars will put their pin in within eyesight, or tell you the code.
A passcode isn’t as big a deterrent as most people seem to think it is. It’ll keep you out of an unattended phone you found, but there are plenty of ways to socially engineer your way into having it for the vast majority of targets.
And yes, you likely wouldn’t give your passcode out. But this is how a number of ne’er-do-wells got unfettered access to hundreds of iPhones, and prompted Apple to put a semi similar 24 hour lock on certain security actions if you aren’t in a “known to the phone” location (somewhere you frequent like home or work).

I’m curious what you think tricky is?
For instance, 1Password requires your secret key for initial login/setup on a device along with the username and password. After initial login/setup the secret key is no longer required, but you still need the password to access.
I’d call that a fair trade off. Someone would need to know my password and have unfettered access to my previously set up device to login, or they would need to know the secret key.
The secret key is not stored by 1Password (the company). If *you* store it in 1Password and the last device is lost/broken/stolen then your account is essentially dead. You have no way to get back in.

Simplest way I can think to explain it is that it’s similar in concept to SSL. If you understand SSL you should be able to understand passkeys.

Yeah, I’ve been guilty of coming up with “cute” solutions that are extremely optimized and concise, but you needed to take a hundred times as long to work through what was going on.
Usually I would put an explanation comment, but sometimes a less optimized solution is the better option for readability sake.

And yet I experience it so often. That or “effort points” as the metric being used to determine who all stars are.
Either as a metric just encourages gaming of the system:
Why write one line when I can write the same thing in 20?
Why take this one effort point task I think will take three when I can just skip it and grab these one effort points I think will take 20 minutes?
I’ve been on teams that on the surface didn’t have these metrics matter, but the top effort points achiever got bonuses on the DL.

It really comes down to what you mean by humidity. “Dew point” can be negative, but humidity cannot.
“Negative humidity” is like saying “this glass has so little water in it, it has negative water”.
