It’s honestly insane that (even as rarely as it’s relevant for a european) this thread is the first I heard of “latine”. All that discourse about latinx and NOW finally I’m being told that there’s been a less stupid attempt at a solution before that. Finally I can stop feeling weird as I’m trying to decide whether to just say latinos as I have no idea what the socially accepted word is in the context I’m in. I can just say latine.

That’s not what fascism is either lol I wouldn’t call china fascist, though doubtlessly authoritarian. But I don’t have nearly as much info on china, it seems to me the persecution of minorities is less of a central political scapegoat and more some weird side thing. But without speaking chinese, I might be wrong. The US had plenty of fascist characteristics at this point and is rather open about the persecution.

Nitro is pretty popular. I know a lot of people including myself that cancelled it over the age verification bs. They still clearly make money through ads and at the very least they scan messages for spam prevention, but also the fact that they are able to guess users age based on discord usage implies they're profiling users. For which they probably also utilize message content.

Interesting that it’s that low, the hotels I went to in japan were all above 10k jpy (~600€) for cleaning fee if you smoke in the room. It makes sense though with how persistent smoke smell can be.

Not so fun fact: the microscopic bits of poop just spray to different places if you close the lid, but there’s just as many. Second not so fun fact: mythbusters tested this as well and found that there’s microscopic poop bits everywhere anyway, and they will get on everything.

Some old ones do. And yes the smell before you flush is as horrible as you’d expect. The combination of diarrhea and one of those toilets made me almost throw up once.
