@jfmezei Luckily, I'm able to avoid that by boarding at low usage or terminal stations at hours that don't coincide with downtown office hours.

@jfmezei The detector might still be a simple lever precisely positioned so that when the tire deflates, the flange of the auxiliary steel wheel next to the tire drops just enough to come into contact with the lever and trigger the alert.

@jfmezei I suspect they're only used for the locked utility rooms at the station. Gotta keep the personnel and equipment within their comfort zone because the trains have already demonstrated they don't work very well outside of the zone! 😂

@jfmezei Mostly for decoration. The underground stations don't feel heated at all! At least there's little wind.

@jfmezei Only the turnstiles in the tunnel are sheltered, but not very well against the wind. There are also turnstiles outside on the Westbound platform.

@jfmezei I lost my favourite luggage shop because of the lease cancellations.

@jfmezei I'll have to look it up. But if the former businesses on the North side of Sparks are any indication, chances are the federal government didn't renew their lease.

@markmccaughrean@mastodon.social I didn't have a TV at the time, but I could get CBC 6 Montreal's audio signal on my FM radio. I was listening to the launch when things went silent and the flight announcer said "obviously a major malfunction." It took a few seconds before they started describing what had just happened.

@jfmezei We're not getting very much snow at this time in Ottawa. My car still only has a bit of snow at the front since the start of the day.
