@judgedread Knowing that and how much they want AI, are they going to just shove it down the masses thoats that power will be unaffordable? Because if US can't scale power it doesn't matter if China is behind 1-2 years in tech if USA is a dozen years behind in power generation. If the power pie is not growing fast enough then seems to me they will just sayy "Hey every is having their power bill double, every year until we get more power online" Since they just can't make the energy capacity it seems like the only way to be sure to stay ahead of China would be have to do an energy blockade of China which China would likely not appreciate. lol if they were better planners they would have been trying to get Russia on their side so could stop Russian energy deliveries to China and then try a joint embargo.
