This release focuses on personalization, planning, and better insights into what you watch.
Here’s what’s new.

1. Custom Home and Sidebar
You can now personalize the Home on iPhone and the Sidebar on iPad and Mac.
Add cards at the top and choose from tags, smart lists, spaces, actors, and more.
Just tap Edit and build the layout that works for you.

One of my favorite features in Movie Tracker is Smart Lists. You choose the filters and the app builds the list automatically.

Want a “Favorites of 2025” list? Done. “Unwatched Critics’ Picks”? Easy.

They update on their own, so you can focus on watching, not sorting.

It’s small touches like this that make tracking feel effortless.

If you could build one Smart List for your movie life, what would it be?

When I built the first version of Movie Tracker, it only did one thing: store movie recommendations from my friends. Then users asked for watch history, ratings, Smart Lists, and iCloud sync.

Each update came from feedback: not analytics, not algorithms.
