Standards connect – and secure the future of research data.
The cooperation between DIN e. V. and #NFDI connects standardisation and academic research: one result is the book presentation "Harmonising Language Data: Standards for Linguistic Resources" at #DIN on 4 Dec.

The book is available with open access and deals with key topics such as #metadata, #interoperability and long-term archiving.

❄️ Winter Data Wonder #2 – Insights into the Ethical, Legal & Societal Dimensions of Data Science

NFDI4DS presents a dataset of 30 anonymised expert interviews on the ethical, legal and social aspects of data science.

Collected between Nov 2022–Feb 2024, the interviews reflect academia and industry perspectives and highlight common challenges in data-science workflows.

Not only did the number of consortia and members grow in 2023, but the events also became increasingly larger. In September, the first in-person Members Assembly was held, followed by the first Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (#CoRDI2023). More than 600 people attended the event at the @KIT_Karlsruhe@social.kit.edu The association had thus achieved its goal of reaching the community at large.

🤓 Another success story from the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) network:
