So, we had the Flying Scotsman come through the other day...such a beautiful thing. First steam loco to do 100mph in service.
Footage taken by a colleague..
Edit: The Scotsman was a fixture of my childhood as it always made an appearance at the Doncaster Works open day. She was built there and is the last of her kind.
No other A3 made it to preservation, which is a bit sad.

Today's best moment came courtesy of a new four legged fren'
This is Theo. A Norfolk terrier cross. He's a Romanian stray who was rescued, taken care of and is now heading to his new home.
Bless! He was very nervous so I sat with him and his owner.
I gave him lots of pats and strokes while telling him about Scotland; where the Haggis roam free and the coos are cute and shaggy.
Where the people are fab and the walks, epic.
I hope he gets home safe, and finds peace & joy with his new human.

Azuaron@cyberpunk.lol - @Tattie I'm a cis guy. I've always been in favor of trans rights since I learned trans people were a thing, but I did spend a number of years not really getting why someone would be trans.
Then one day I just had the thought, "What if I woke up tomorrow with a female body?" And after the obvious jokes that immediately came to mind, I actually thought about being stuck in the wrong body, unable to get back, and I had to stop because I almost gave myself a panic attack.
I'm an on-again-off-again recreational author, so I frequently find myself in unusual thought experiments. Which is to say, I hadn't intended to have a moment of profound empathy for trans people, but as soon as I calmed down I thought, Oh, this must be how a lot of trans people feel all time.
All of that to say: I see you. It's real. I think most cis people, if they put just a few minutes into the activity, would be forced to admit that if they were suddenly body swapped, they'd be desperate to get back to their correct body. Most cis people just never seriously confront the thought.

We have a sad tale today from Manchester Piccadilly station.
This is Chocolat. Or at least that's the name printed on their foot.
They're a lovely, cuddly black kitty who was sadly separated from their owner on Platforms 3 & 4 about 19.14.
We heard a tinkle of broken glass and helped their owner tidy up however she had left before I could pass this lovely kitty back to her owner.
Unable to find her on the nearby train we are a bit lost.
Please share this far and wide, across any social media and maybe we can help reunite this poor kitty with their rightful owner.
We will ensure Lost Property here look after her in the meantime.

Writing this down while the dream was in my head.
Late teens boy, baby face, is a con artist. A very good one. Infiltrates his targets as a young teenage girl.
He's being supported by ex Agency man and woman team (not related, unless as cover and not sure there's any feeling there).
They're very caring for this boy and will do anything to protect him.
My brain run me through a series of heists and scams, sometimes money, sometimes intel.
The team do occasionally interact with government spooks but usually it's "off the books".
The intel has proven useful so the CIA wants this kid as an asset from the end of "season 1" and so the stakes are upped through to the end of "season 2" as our plucky crew have to evade the pros too.
Season finale, the CIA dragnet closes in and he's taken into agency custody, the guard closing the van door with a totally-not evil "Wait till they get a hold of him..."
"Screen" fades to black.
I wake up, worried and scared about my principal character. Realise it's a dream and feel sad I'll probably never find out how it all ends.
It was cool, fun, tense and a trans teen figuring themselves out while doing cool stuff.
So I figured I'd write what I remember before it all fades away into the ether of lost dreams/memories...
Gonna try sleep some more. Gotta be up at 5...

Company Mandated Rest Day.
We regret to inform you about a cancellation of the morning "lie-in" part of the day.
This is due to multiple acts of cat.
There was no screaming. There was no meow.
There were no claws used.
A consistent campaign of nuzzling around my head, purring and chirping as well as demanding access under the duvet, placing herself so I could not roll over or stretch out easily or without.
In the end, I have conceded. The withdrawal to the sofa has been monitored.
Munch is now in The Usual position of limpet stuck to my hip.
