@harld@masto.ai Klopt schoenmaker blijf bij je leest. En dat geldt ook voor Swaab.
Hij ondergraaft op een ernstige wijze hiermee de pogingen van talrijke artsen en organisaties om mensen aan het bewegen te krijgen om allerlei (chronische) ziekten en klachten te voorkomen. Met z'n geschuifel en vlieg die niet vliegt. 🙄 Hij is geen arts die zich heeft verdiept in de positieve effecten van beweging, in de darmen, het hart of wat ook - enkel het brein.

En ook even over de darmen:
Darmbacterieën produceren belangrijke neurotransmitters, 90% (oid) van de serotinine bijvoorbeeld wordt in de darmen geproduceerd.
De aanwezigheid van een bepaald microbioom vermindert in studies depressies.
Wij zijn wel degelijk ook onze darmen.
Swaabs brein begrijpt dat niet, een gebrek aan kennis, zal ik maar zeggen, in Swaabs eigen woorden.

@volkskrant@mastodon.nl Raar dat aan de kwestie van vluchtelingen in dit artikel voorbij wordt gegaan.
Dat lijkt me nogal een punt. Ik vermoed dat Israel het land zodanig in puin bombardeert dat Iran nauwelijks nog kan functioneren, alleen daardoor kan het geen bedreiging meer zijn wie er ook aan de macht komt. Zoals Libië en Irak.
Gevolg: veel vluchtelingen.
Trump en co zullen dat resultaat alleen maar toejuichen. Want dan krijgt Europa weer de schrik om zovelen te herbergen. (Extreem)rechtse partijen zullen er garen bij spinnen. Precies wat de huidige Amerikaanse regering wil.

En daar zal Trump dus in mee gaan, tenzij hij wordt tegengehouden door een groot deel van de Republikeinse partij.

Een woordvoerster van de inspectie bevestigt dat na berichtgeving door Follow the Money.[*]

"Formaldehyde veroorzaakt op korte termijn benauwdheid, hoofdpijn en eczeem. Op lange termijn kan de stof neuskanker en leukemie veroorzaken."

@ABScientist@forall.social Op basis van de beschrijvingen die je geeft, waarbij er een patroon is (in de lente, heel mijn leven, regelmatig, gaat weer over), lijkt me dit niet aansluiten bij de symptomen uit het artikel.
Die aanhoudende hoest waarbij je de link vermoedt met bijwerking, tja, dat zou kunnen natuurlijk. Hoeft niet. Geen idee wat de bijwerkingen kunnen zijn van dat specifieke medicijn, dat weet jij beter dan ik.

@ABScientist@forall.social Afgezien van die extreme vermoeiheid of algemene zwakte en die terugkerende luchtweginfecties, waar meerdere, meer voor de hand liggende verklaringen voor zijn, vind ik eea best ernstig en zou ik zelf hameren op nader onderzoek en evt zelfs doorverwijzing, als de huisarts dat zelf al niet initieert.

De belangrijkste reden om zich niet aan te melden is angst om iets fout te doen. De Hartstichting noemde die angst begrijpelijk, maar onterecht."

Ja, dit is belangrijk. Ooit 'zat' ik jarenlang zelf op 'EHBO', en dit kwam uiteraard regelmatig aan de orde. Het oefenen op een pop, maar ook hamerden ze erop dat je het altijd moet proberen en dat je ervan uit moet gaan dat de persoon due je reanimeert een paar ribben zal (kunnen) breken. "Maar ribben zijn te genezen, van de dood kom je niet terug."

"ERNIE kan hierdoor virussen in de beginfase van de uitbraak detecteren, eerder dus dan de modellen van bijvoorbeeld het RIVM dat kunnen. […] Als je eerder een uitbraak kan vaststellen, is het ook mogelijk om eerder maatregelen te nemen om de gevolgen van een uitbraak te beperken."
