Sent my feedback to my Labor member today about Australia's support of the US illegal actions in Iran. The very young staffer told me that (a) We support the US and Israel in their quest to ensure Iran does not get nuclear weapons and (b) Australia is not giving any actual assistance to the US in this endeavour.
When I questioned the veracity of both of those statements she told me she "believes that the government would not lie". And then got super righteous telling me that "that's just your opinion", and informed me that it was not her job to enter into conversations with people but just to hand on the information the government had given her.
Super great way to encourage people to vote for you.
If most young people are this gormless I despair for us.
