Communities hit by Hurricanes Helene and Milton are still picking up the pieces and they need our help. Congress must step up and deliver comprehensive disaster relief to help these communities rebuild. It's the right thing to do.

Replacing our federal workforce with Trump loyalists would be disastrous for our economy, anyone who believes the government should work well, and for those who lose their jobs. I will work tirelessly to protect our civil service from Trump's attacks.

Many of you are worried about what a Trump White House means for your life and livelihood. We have a tough battle ahead – but I want you to know that I will be your champion and remain committed to fighting against efforts to erase our progress.

Happy Diwali to all celebrating in Northern Virginia and beyond! May your celebrations be filled with light and joy.
15 years ago today, President Obama signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act into law, expanding critical protections for Americans.
Everyone – regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or disability – deserves safety, dignity, and justice.
3D-printed guns can be obtained, mass-produced, and distributed without the need for background checks – all that's required are the printing blueprints.
Good to see the Biden-Harris Administration taking significant action to address this growing danger.

Nearly 1 in 5 small business owners and self-employed workers depended on the ACA for coverage in 2022.
Donald Trump’s “concepts of a plan” to repeal the ACA would take entrepreneurs back to a time of limited, unaffordable coverage. We can't go back.

I’m relieved that the House just passed a short-term funding bill. Once again, House Democrats provided the lion’s share of votes to avert an economically disastrous shutdown and keep our government running. 82 Republicans voted against it.
The bill now heads to the Senate:
Despite their claims to support IVF, Senate Republicans just blocked passage of legislation that would codify IVF protections into law for the second time this year.
Actions speak louder than words.

This is the horrifying, dangerous result of Donald Trump and JD Vance’s campaign to secure an anti-choice Supreme Court majority.
We must pass the Women's Health Protection Act to codify the protections of Roe v Wade. No woman’s life should depend on what state she lives in.

30 years ago today, President Clinton signed the Violence Against Women Act – a milestone in the fight against domestic violence. While this legislation has strengthened protections and resources for survivors and saved lives, there is still much more we can do to protect women.
On this solemn day, we honor the memory of those we lost on September 11, 2001. We commemorate the innocent lives lost and the bravery of the first responders who risked everything to save others. Their courage and sacrifice live on in our collective memory. #NeverForget

On #WorldEnvironmentDay, we celebrate our wonderful planet and are reminded of our responsibility to protect it. With House Democrats, I continue to fight for commonsense policies that help us combat pollution, protect our ecosystems, and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
Scarlett Johansson’s is a high-profile example of the growing need for transparency in AI models – anyone who believes their voice is used without their permission would ask the same questions she is asking now.
My bill, the AI Foundation Model Transparency Act would ensure that those questions are answered by ensuring AI foundation models share key information with regulators and the public.

We still have so much work to do to address this crisis and help Americans recover from addiction, but the recent decline in overdose deaths is welcome news.

On #YomHaShoah, we remember and honor the 6 million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust.
As we honor their memory, we’re reminded that antisemitism persists today. We must stand united against hate in all its forms. Never again means never again.
The Biden-Harris Administration has done more to address gun violence - with help from Congress' Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which I was proud to help pass - than any administration in decades. We still have much more to do, but this is great progress that will save lives.

Good to see President Biden strengthen Endangered Species Act protections for biodiversity and imperiled species. We want to see more, and as co-chair of the Endangered Species Act Caucus, I'll keep pushing to fix the damage Trump did to the ESA.
