I believe that when you’re overstimulated, you should appear somewhat grayed out, and no one should be able to interact with you like a locked character in a video game.

I call it "zombie mode".
It doesn't feel like gray, it's like my brain runs in kernel panic from all input buffers overflowing, spilling mess all over the floor.
Just minimum cognition online. I can react. I can hear you. But I don't understand what you want from me. I will forget most of what you say. I refuse decisions.
Let me flee, or leave me alone. And, hell, DON'T provoke me to eat your soul — after all, I'm a zombie, sorrow is offline. 🥴
Sounds funnier than it feels.
