Second ever wxWidgets PR submitted, this time fixing all checkboxes having a label of "check", as horrifying as that is. Hoping for a hotfix.

PDF is such a cursed goddamn format. I've just recently learned of a particular type of PDF file that doesn't actually include spaces in the text stream, but instead uses a bunch of fancy tricks to move the cursor to the right visually! This totally breaks Paperback, which is great. Might end up switching back to the tried and true pdfium.

Version 0.2.0 of Fedra, the blazing fast and fully native Rust Mastodon client by @Aryan@dragonscave.space and I just got a new update to version 0.2.0. Changelog:
Added a webview-based dialog for viewing the raw contents of a post. #18.
Added a new option, checked by default, to remove tracking parameters from URLs.
Added an option to check for development builds upon update, not new stable releases.
Added timeline templates, allowing you to customize everything about how Fedra's timeline entries are displayed. The relative/absolute time check box has also been removed from the options dialog, and is now settable per-template. See the templates section of the readme for more details.
Filters are now respected in the timeline, and you can manage them in a super basic sense. This capability will be expanded in a future version.
Fixed attaching media, so more than teeny tiny files work now.
Fixed the handling of JSON responses from certain servers.
Hopefully fixed a rare but annoying crash in the new post dialog. #14.
It is now possible to type past the character limit once again, but you will get a warning sound when you do so.
Post statistics are now properly pluralized, so you will now hear "1 reply" instead of "1 replies".
pressing shift+f10 or the context menu key on a post will now bring up a menu of post actions. #16.
Replies are properly grouped in threads now.
The mentions dialog will now include users who haven't fedrated with your instance yet.
The open user dialog will now be automatically prepopulated with all of the usernames that appear in your current timeline. #9.
When closing a timeline, the name of the newly focused one will now be spoken before the timeline contents, as intended.

Zip: https://github.com/trypsynth/fedra/releases/download/0.2.0/fedra.zip
Installer: https://github.com/trypsynth/fedra/releases/download/0.2.0/fedra_setup.exe
Enjoy!

I've just received the following email from Selvas BLV. I'm going to CSUN this year, and if one of the new products is a modernized/upgraded SensePlayer, I will be spending a lot of money that I meant to save. Hello valued Selvas BLV community!

In preparation for CSUN, Selvas BLV would like to announce that we have a new - well, four new - products coming your way!

While specific details will be announced within the next two weeks, we wanted to give you a heads up.

Built on what already works with our products, and improved with what you’ve been asking for, we are getting ready to offer you the best blind and low vision products you’ll see all year.

Stay tuned,
Selvas BLV.

Okay, so can someone please explain to me why keepandroidopen.com is suddenly trending all of a sudden again? The site claims that the only statement made about allowing users to sideload was an obscure tweet, but I think this official Google blog post from November 12 of 2025 would disagree. It's a lot of generic corprit BS, talking about why they want to implement it, but it explicitly mentions implementing a solution for hobbiests and smaller devs, so...what exactly is the problem here? Yeah, sure, it would be great if this just didn't exist at all, but Google is at least giving us a couple pathways around it. Is it because there will be no more FDroid/Apptoid/etc? I don't get this. https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2025/11/android-developer-verification-early.html

I now officially have code in wxWidgets! There was a really dumb bug where enabling dark mode for apps would cause your check boxes and radio buttons to show up as just raw buttons to screen readers. I got tired of this, sent in a quick PR, got some feedback from the wxWidgets maintainers, cleaned everything up, and it's now merged! This is the beauty of open source. https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/commit/b5ea9cfe86cedc095adbfd23cff7ea32a2a43a4b

If you use Foobar2000 on Windows and are tired of not being able to jump to a specific time in your currently loaded track, this teeny Foobar component I wrote over the weekend will help you out. It gives you a new assignable keyboard shortcut that, when pressed, brings up a dialog asking you to enter a time to jump to. It accepts `H:MM:SS`, `M:SS`, or bare seconds. It also supports decimal fractions (e.g. `1:30.500`). Currently, you have to build it from source and copy the DLL in manually, but in the coming days when I have some free time I hope to make it a proper fb2component. Source code: https://github.com/trypsynth/foo_jumptime
