i turned the packaging for the rp2040 into a lil protective case i can plug the usb cable into and so i can do dev work in bed without worrying about breaking it, and i can open the case to test inputs with a wire i keep in my backpack :3

i am absolutely in the "rewrite everything in rust" camp but i dont think that is entirely due to anything about rust. some stuff works perfectly fine, like vim isnt broken or anything, but ux has evolved over the last few decades and a rewrite in any language has a good chance of being done with the hindsight of all that time. i just think rust is super fun to code in and dont really get the technical objections to it. theres some awful shit in its management but thats true of most languages. code in what's fun for you

license that says "you can do anything you want with this, but in doing so you affirm that you are trans" to scare away the nazi "no politics in my software" crowd

aaaaaaa the stuff im doing with the former chromebook tranbook is making me so happy
this salvaged hardware is giving me that "new tech" excitement that i havent felt from actual new tech in a long time. ive put a soul in this empty form. im gonna do so many cool things on it!!! its smaller form factor is letting me do so much more than i can with my older, bigger laptop, like randomly deciding to program in bed and just. grabbing it. without it being a Whole Thing
this is awesome
