Another panorama of the march on People's Park, this one showing plots roped off to protect them. It isn't as good as the one I posted a few days ago, but it did require processing 11 separate negatives (and then doing them all over again after I decided that the tonality needed adjusting), so this will be my contribution for today.

This panorama was taken on 12 frames stitched together in Photoshop. The fact that I took the set as a panorama and then held on to the negatives for half a century until technology made it possible to render this image is so cool that I'm just going to leave this out here by itself for a day to let you all dig it.

Next up in #retrobosak are the pictures I took of the march on People's Park (Berkeley) on May 30, 1969. The march, attended by students from all nine UC campuses, was to protest the death of James Rector two weeks earlier. (See wikipedia for all about this.) On May 29, several of us from UCR drove the nearly 500 miles north to participate.

The drive from Riverside to Berkeley was one of the longest rides I've ever taken in my life. We knew that we would be marching under the guns (literally) of the same sheriff's deputies who had killed Rector. (And in fact sharpshooters on rooftops along the march did track us through their scopes as we marched the next day.) We were scared to death.
