@Netoraremancer Yeah it was cool to learn they were used and useful, at least for a while. I'd seen them a lot in films and TV and just assumed it was some stuff made for cattle that seemed cool.
The other film related surprise recently was that there was bubble bath in the form of powders was a thing, and still is apparently.

I always thought the kind of pressure injectors you see in a lot of 80s+ sci-fi were just props, but they were a real thing, called 'jet injectors'.
They fell out of favor because of risk of cross contamination between victims due to blow-jack pressure and sputtering. The current version is called the 'disposable-cartridge jet injector' and looks a lot less futuristic (pic 4)
