I am very much in need of information from people in England and Wales about piercing removal.
My earlobes are pierced. The holes are healed, I haven't worn earrings for many years. They're not stretched or split, just standard tiny earring holes for studs or hoops.
According to the entire world, they eventually just... close? But mine are still there, and they semi-regularly get swollen and infected.
I've contacted two national private hospitals and they both said they don't offer piercing closure surgery in my situation. My NHS GP refused me because it was a voluntary cosmetic procedure.
Does anyone know how someone in my situation usually goes about this? Do piercers offer piercing-closing minor surgeries or anything? Has anyone had this done at a private hospital, and if so, which one?
Edit:
NO, I do not want to apply olive oil or raw garlic or any other foods to my ear lobes. I KNOW that my piercing holes may never fully close, I already know how to keep them clean, and I do not need explanations as to why it is happening. I WANT ADVICE FROM PEOPLE IN ENGLAND AND WALES ABOUT SURGICAL REMOVAL OF PIERCING HOLES.
