Touring a former Benedictine Priory turned Tudor Manor House for serious historical study reasons and not because of this mural of a beast with a flower growing out of it’s arse.

I’m certainly in a mood. What with touring local historic building and reading about medieval women.

So I’m playing Pentiment again, which might just be my favourite game ever.

Emergency session at Kids D&D. I’ve got twice as many kids so we’re going to be playing Border Riding, a game of drawing a map and creating a community.

This is our starting map. I wonder how it’s going to turn out.

I wonder how climate change effects the ghost population.

Wait, I probably need to explain this a bit more don’t I?

When I did the ghost tour in Exeter they told us about a ghostly carriage that appears in the first snow of the year.

We just don’t get snow that often anymore.

So what has become of the weather-dependent spookies?

Ended my day in Exeter on a ghost tour.

Once again failed to see a ghost although there is always the potential of one following me back to the hotel as I didn’t say goodnight to it properly.

I live in hope.

And, of course, no morning history stumble around Exeter can be complete without a pilgrimage to the world’s oldest cat flap.

Just bumbling around Exeter on my day off. I’m going to poke at some history that I’ve either never seen before or only looked at when I first moved down here (and now can’t remember)

Friday I was stuck in traffic by some Bronze Age Barrows and I couldn’t persuade my colleague to be interested.

Today we drove past on the way home so I tried again:

‘Look at the bumps, they have dead bodies.’

‘Cool.’

‘They’re like boobies but with bodies in.’

‘Why didn’t you explain it like that on Friday?’

(Nobody needs to point out that this isn’t exactly an accurate description)

Just popping down to my local medieval chapel for a cheeky lunchtime trespass.
