@BudGibson@mstdn.social Yep, that was Kurt DeMaagd (Kurtthepope) who got his PhD at Ross, and then taught with me at MSU for several years. He's in the private sector now. Nate Oostendorp, another of the OGs, got his MSI and currently teaches one of our capstone data science classes. He founded Sight Machine in town.

@naught101@mastodon.social I also loved the old Slashdot moderation system. It had features we haven't seen replicated and would be dead useful today!

And yep, I did indeed write a dissertation on it. :-) Worked out in the long run...
