I have a #linux question for the class.

I have this jailbroken Intel Chromebook running #debian 13. The screen is broken and I wanted to try and run with no screen, just HDMI (like a pi 500)

When the eDP is installed the HDMI works and screens mirror. And I can even unplug the eDP and it continues to run.

However, it won't even post or get to a pingable status when trying to start it up with no edp LCD installed.

Any ideas why?

I recently received a number of these Asus Chromebook 100P laptops as a donation. They're cute little laptops, but are on an expired version of ChromeOS, and since they're #arm I can't use my usual tricks with MrChromebox.

Well @cinimodev@masto.ctms.me apparently is way smarter than me, and figured out how to get #postmarketOS running on this in no time.

Yooooo, this is exciting. I've always written off #arm #chomebook as un-saveable since they can't be jailbroken with MrChomebox.

I just got like 50 of these Asus C100P arm chromebooks that are "expired". Digging around, it looks like #postmarketOS will run on this!

Still stuff to figure out but DAMN this is promising. Being able to save even ARM chromebooks is epic. Dammit I love #linux and #openSource

I've played with a lot of #thinkpad but never an 11e.

Does anyone know wth happened to my Spotify #flatpak with these window dressings in #linux

I've been running #nixos and #gnome for years with the spotify flatpak and it's looked fine.

But now on both my computers I get this ugly title bar. Anyone else experience this?

More proof that #linux #nixbook is completely usable by normal, non technical folks.

I recently donated 10 Nixbooks to a local community college that had a group of under privileged students that really needed computers.

These were non technical folks with no training whatsoever. Some didn't even speak fluent English. And yet the feedback has been amazing from it.

Thank you to all the #openSource heros that make this possible. And to #nixos for making one hell of a base

I really love the #pine64 pine power.

Not only can I charge many things at once. But I love seeing the draw on the display so I know at one glace whats still charging and what's done.

I'm curious about trying to get #nixbook to be secureboot compatible. I'm reading that lanzaboote is an option.

We had an event last night at a low income housing community here in Olympia. We brought some Nixbooks, gave them away and showed people how to use them. These people are NOT technical and still all said that Nixbook was far easier to use than any other computer they had used in the past. All these laptops were headed for the scrapyard, but now thanks to Linux are out there changing peoples lives. :) #linux #nixbook #recycling #ewaste
