Trumps criticism of the UK over use of bases to attack Iran and references to Churchill is directed at supporting mini-Trump (aka Farage) and the UK GOP ( aka Conservatives) and feeding the right wing UK media.
The Tories worship Churchill while forgetting that they were the party of appeasement in the 1930s and in 1940 opposed him becoming PM preferring Lord Halifax who was openly seeking terms (aka surrender) with Hitler.
It was Labour and the Liberals who wanted Churchill.
Fast forward to the present day and Starmer correctly IMO decided to not be the US lapdog and not participate in an illegal war unlike his predecessor Blair.
It is emerging that the Israelis are calling the shots making the US look like the weak lapdog.
About time a UK PM had some spine to not dance to whatever tune the US plays and stand up for international law. As the rest of Europe is doing.
Trump fumes that his former lapdog no longer comes to heel.

So Trump and Bibi have killed Ayatollah Khamenei. In so doing I believe they have made a huge mistake.
During WW2 the British mulled assassinating Hitler. They decided against because they would have turned him into a martyr and poured fuel on the flames of Nazism. That, and he was doing a good job of losing the war and someone willing to listen to the Generals might have replaced him.
So it is in Iran. They haven’t decapitated the Iranian zealots, only given them more rage. Only opportunity for another firebrand zealot to replace him bent on retribution.
Why? To shore up the reputation at home of two vulnerable politicians facing prosecution when they are no longer in power. And in the case of Trump to boost his ratings in the polls.
Well, when the suicide bombers exact revenge, as they will, on the streets of the West I hope it was worth it.

@georgetakei@universeodon.com as he said “the people that I love”. He loves money and people who have money. He despises people who don’t, a classic Conservative viewpoint.

Vaccination is a subject close to my heart as I have a suppressed immune system and worry about being infected by others which has happened to me with Covid. I live a somewhat sheltered life as a result.
While respecting personal choice, I do wonder if anti-vaxxers also decline all medicines as being “unsafe”?

It seems any discussion on Facebook at least (even in closed groups to a point) is accompanied by a swathe of negative posts to the effect that they don't work, and are very expensive to run.
When people try and post evidence to the contrary they are accused of lying or being paid shills.
Conclusion - those with the agenda are the critics not the actual owners.
I can only speak from my own experience that my house is warm and the ASHP is costing me less than the oil did.
I can't see any reason for the number of people posting in a topic that they manifestly have no personal interest in except that it is they who are the shills.
Just my thoughts.
