Had a really weird dream which, although not scary, woke me early. What my brain then did was say "Hey, that would make a great short story. Write it down before you forget it!" I mean it's not like I don't already have about a dozen short story ideas and a few books planned, outlined or in progress 😜 #ShortStory #WritingIdeas #inspiration

I've created a new cover for my children's #ShortStory Waiting at the Bus Stop. This is more in keeping with the other books and stories I've produced but, I think, keeps its own identity well.

Three children discuss their favourite superpower while waiting for the bus but maybe all is not what it seems.

Hmm I've just found out about #bookwyrm which l, from what I've seen, is a more open, privacy centric alternative to Goodreads. The problem is they don't have author profiles so the only way to get my books on there would be to say I'm reading them. That seems a little against what that service is for.

I want to support this and there's a lot of synergy between my own #CreativeCommons ethos and what they do. I'm not interested in boosting sales or self promotion really but I do think people who use something like bookwyrm would appreciate my CC books.

So what was 2025 like for crimperbooks?
Downsides:
- I didn't complete the third Roboteers novel like I wanted to.

Upsides:
- I wrote another two Roboteers short stories (and I have made great progress in the third novel)
- Finally got that new cover for Face to Face with the Gorilla king
- I discovered that kids are still enjoying my work some 12 years after I wrote it.
- Some great audio versions of my stories appeared courtesy of @boringdadsleepstories@indieauthors.social

So, all in all, a positive year.

It's been a while but I finally got back to some writing yesterday. I have done a first draft of half the third Roboteers novel.
I am planning for this to be the last one but I'll leave it open in case I get a hankering to continue everybody's stories some.more.

The amazing @boringdadsleepstories@indieauthors.social has narrated my first Roboteers story: "Sugar the Robot and the race to save the Earth"

It's a fabulous job and, if you want a great bedtime story for your kids to listen to, I heartily recommend it.
