There are so many little things in that link that sends up a little red flag, but this section…. Oof. Family planning: We would like to have 3-4 kids. We are considering having Melissa breed with Norman or Zaid, and/or Mackenzie with Douglas, as we believe these would be the genetically-optimal combinations. This would likely take place in the next 1-2 years. As you would be a newer addition to the polycule, we would need to get to know you for 2-4 years (depending on good behavior) before considering adding you to the gene pool.

Kind of the whole thing behind Purge (its been a while, so I don't remember if this was the first or what) was that the CEOs and other very wealthy would hide themselves away while people killed each other, as a distraction from their own terrible actions throughout the year. So yeah, it was kind of the point that there would be a boss still after the purge.

I'm not him so I couldn't say, but considering I know he does volunteer cleanup days at the trails, I really dont think he looks down on garbage pickup the way you and others seem to be, that its only fulfilling because of money.

Tbh I'd kind of trust them more. Even if they got off thinking of my feet later (which, who cares, have at it), they are going to put a lot more effort and get a lot more knowledge than someone just doing it for the high billing rate, dont you think? And probably care more about the quality of my arch than the guy writing a prescription for orthotics because the manufacturer just bought him a nice dinner. Just because they are pervs doesnt mean they'd be bad at it, I'd say they'd be even better at it than most. Wouldn't you think?

For example i doubt that many people enjoy working at garbage disposable or basically any waste disposal

Ehhh I bet you’d be wrong. Only anecdotal obviously, but at practice and games for the kids, a lot of dads just chat when there isnt much going on. A couple of them work for the local garbage company. One of them commented that he doesnt know how I stay inside and work all day, he really enjoys being outside with the trucks in the morning, then enjoying the afternoon outside with the kids. Another one is a mechanic for them, he always thought the trucks were cool, and he still enjoys working on them (though he will 100% tell you, in great detail, which manufacturers suck for various parts). Haven’t talked much with the last one about work, I think he is the only one just straight up doing it for money though.

And who knows, maybe the guy who likes being outside says that to be positive about his choices in life, but I see him at the park with the kids a lot, I’ve run into him heading out to the trails on his mountain bike, etc, so I believe him that he’s perfectly happy doing it.

Automation for unwanted tasks is great though, I agree, and where automation should be focused.

Check b stock. Typically its scratch & dent, sometimes demo or trade show use. Still gets a warranty (which is better on commercial in most cases), and usually a pretty sizable discount. If you can find a local distributor, they will sometimes sell off prior year stock for a really good price.

They are, but I mostly use the library’s 3d printer. When I get to have a bit more room I’ll probably set one up in a workshop, but right now it would just eat up space. I have a large format printer, so I size and design on the PC, print to large format cardstock, then do cutouts with a blade.

My artistic abilities are on the same level as my 3yr old, the results would not be worth a picture, and I’d be concerned about even having legibility. I’d need to stencil it first.

Debian. For decades. My first installation was slack and from then until now has been a mix of more things than I care to list, but includes things like freebsd on a DEC multia, a sparcstation pizza box with a 2.6ish kernel maybe?, along with things like Ubuntu, suse, fedora, centos, gentoo, ive built from scratch, I ever remember the days of configuring x with fvwm95 because I thought it would be easier for my parents. I always go back to Debian. Though I'm happy with arch when I want something 'current'.

Police and jail replacement for community torture and public shaming. Ah, yes, police and prison! So now its state run torture and public shaming, along with the added bonuses of legalized slavery and corporate profiteering. I would really recommend you learn a bit about what’s actually going on. Life isn’t paw patrol.

Ehhh I’d call that a foundational element and not policing as we’d consider it to be today. It was a very limited scope (known criminals, enforcing curfews, and dealing with riots). Modern policing would be more London in the 1830s as the first police force, with American policing in the 1840s and beyond, with the american roots in the slave patrols from the 1700s. Earlier models were more based on the mutual pledge system, with groups of families (tithings) have an assigned tithingman, with groups of tithings (a hundred). This became the basis of the constable.

Police are modern. They came into existence after the United States did. Before that, people relied on the community - if one person was stolen from, the community considered it a collective responsibility to address the issue. If it was an issue between two people in the community, a trusted person would mediate. Sometimes this was someone in a leadership role, but other times it was Taylor from down the road, because they want someone who is always calm, fair, and reasonable, and both people trust Taylor. Just like there are lots of other things police currently handle that they shouldn’t, like people having a mental health crisis.

For work, I have a work computer with a build on it provided by work. If your work is letting/having you use something different, then explanations shouldn’t be needed. If youre doing this on your own, that may be a problem.

Yeah everything is a player (including the piano), and aside from the instruments themselves there are hundreds of rolls - originals (which my kids saw how they are made with an old Mr. Rogers episode I put on for them), customs my FIL made of his own music, and some modern pop we’ve picked up for them. And yep, AMICA is a great option, my FIL is a member still I think. We are definitely going to take at least one of them, I have a feeling it will be the big pneumatic upright. Which I’m prepping a controller conversion for to allow him to do midi with it to test playback before making a new roll. The controls all work but I need to replace one of the relays… And now you know why that’s the one we’ll likely end up taking (and its also one of the bigger ones).

Now that’s the kind of thing my wife would love to have. Maybe at some point we’ll take away someone else’s space occupier. We’ve got a few pieces of furniture, the one in really not looking forward to is the musical instruments. We’re talking full grand piano, player piano, pneumatic uprights, etc. They are huge. There is no way my wife won’t want at least one, and I’m probably the only one who knows how to do the maintenance despite it being her parents stuff and she has a few siblings.
