Everything about this trial from beginning to end has proven what we have said all along: this is a sham trial, built on political persecution and ideological attacks coming from the top.

The state never had a case. The state only has its intimidation, torture, and suppression.

The federal government came out in force: using repression, terrorism charges, home raids, multimillion dollar bails, and torturous jail conditions.

In a surprise move, all 9 defense teams rested their case immediately following the conclusion of the prosecution's time.

This means closing arguments will begin tomorrow, and the jury is expected to begin deliberation Thursday, 3/12.

The prosecution has done everything in their power to terrorize these cooperators into compliance. Multiple have broken down on the stand, distraught over betraying their friends and over the threats thrown at them by investigators and jailers. Despite all this, the prosecution has not managed to present any evidence to support the wild claims foundational to the case. This was never an ambush by an antifa cell.

Folks feeling pretty good after the first day of arguments in the Prairieland trial! The prosecution's opening arguments were long and meandering. Importantly, they spent a lot of time talking about political beliefs and first amendment activities as evidence of their fantastical conspiracy, including calling the Emma Goldman Bookclub the "recruitment ground" for "the North Texas Antifa Cell."
