I have someone who blocked me after calling me a communist here, and I was also called a fascist here.

It's a hard life, you know, having to make these choices. Who gets to throw me in a gulag? Who gets to murder my family?

Anyone have any advice on how to make the best choice?

There's so much irony in this, but I recently had a very efficient hack to improve the performance of an LLM agent...

It was stuck in a loop debugging, building, rerunning, grepping the result, etc.

I told it to stop and add debug logs to the app.

It got unstuck and solved the bugs instantly.

monolish (n) - a thing that's actually a monolith, but you need to call it something else, since monolith is a bad word, even though it's not a necessarily a bad thing, but you can't really call it a "monorepo" either, even though you'd like to, because it's actually a monolith.

It's probably OK if LLMs make us worse developers. But I do hope LLMs won't make us worse persons.

It doesn't feel like anything, but I moved the screen off time to be 15 minutes earlier and the kid's mood improved immediately.

I guess it should really be another 15 minutes earlier, to have enough of a buffer?

Reviewing a large PR, generated using an LLM.

Two conclusions so far:

1. For now, I'll still have a job as a quality gate. That's assuming quality matters. It might not, judging by how willingly we eat up slop, tiktoks and Temu products.
2. I might start hating my job. It had better pay well.

Electricity is a very weird market. Why does the price change by 50% every 15 minutes? And you thought bitcoin was volatile.

If I were a Ukrainian watching the Olympics opening ceremony I'd probably kick the telly as the speakers keep on talking about peace, unity, etc.

Good thing that's probably not happening, cause Ukrainians probably don't have electricity to watch it.
