Basically confirms what I felt was true: politically debating strangers is useless if not counterproductive. What does is friendship and experience.
But further: forming friendships with people outside of our comfort zone is a social skill that can be trained or atrophy, and that SM is a bad medium for it. Importance of 3rd spaces.

I've come to the point that if an activity does need everyone's participation, then I won't start unless that's the case 🤷 intersects with consent.
This _may_ mean having to exclude people who don't want to participate... but I see no other way.

Interesting world we're coming too, where anything published online will likely be preserved for ever and quite possibly identifiable to author.
Most people will still remain anonymous by sheer volume of content, but politicians, etc will likely need to be trained from adolescence to keep squeaky clean record...

The title is the thesis, but the detail is worth reading. Kind of reminds me of CAP theorem, except for people https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAP_theorem

This seems a fundamental weakness of the #fediverse - and that disregarding the limitations coming from base architecture. Seems to pose a mid/long-term existential threat.
What can we do to help improve things?

I mean the fact that we're kind of having cold war 2/WW III + continued biocide does not support the argument these developments were unproblematic. @JamesBaker @lkanies
