I've long been looking for an analysis of the Epstein scandal that is neither salacious or conspiratorial, nor focused solely on Epstein himself. The question I had was, "How was Epstein able to do what he did?"

I think this interview with Anand Giridharadas on the Ezra Klein Show finally answers that question, honestly, truthfully and without hyperbole. It's an hour and 25 minutes long, but to me, it was well worth it.
